OurVeteransFirst Mission
To empower homeless military veterans by providing a safe environment in which they can restore mind, body, and spirit and prepare themselves to be independent and whole.
OurVeteransFirst was founded in May, 2019 by community members who saw a need for transitional housing for homeless or at-risk veterans that would provide more than a roof over their heads. The program and housing we propose is unique, with few similar programs in existence across the country. We believe if we can make our vision a reality, the template could be utilized to help other genres of homeless or at- risk individuals in our community and across the country.
By doing this, we hope to help end veteran homelessness as well as make a positive impact on our community by re-introducing male and female veterans who are healthy, whole and ready to be independent.
